Fantasy Post the IV

"What are you doing here?" Soren hissed, trying to cover her fear. Fern looked up sheepishly and answered,
"Well, I couldn't just let my best friend run off into the Brackamshire woods could I? I'll Have to admit Acies,* my kitty isn't used to walking in the woods, hit about every twig from there to here." Soren released a bubbly laugh. "I brought food too." Fern muttered, "Your the only one who could be careless enough to forget that." Soren grinned. Fern was always "picking up the things she dropped" so to say. They continues through the undergrowth, Acies making it extremely obvious to any creature where the were. Gradually, the progress became quieter and less clumsy. Suddenly, both cats began shifting around uneasily, and balked from going further. Just then, a monstrous badger charged towards them out of the brush. Instantly, with shrieking wails, and scrambled away, predator close on their tails. The Luna's lifted off their mounts and flew to the safety of the treetops. As soon as the cats were loose they darted up tree's just in time to miss the snarling badgers menacing claws and snapping jaws. The frustrated mammal rampaged back into the dense undergrowth. Soren and Fern flitted over to their terrified felines and soothed them with milky, enchanting words, while still peering around to check their surroundings.

*Acies means battle line, because that's where he was captured
and brought to the Luna's

Ella, I love how you have so many good details and strong verbs. You really make it so that the reader can see what they are reading. Keep on posting! I also love the Latin you are including. Sounds familiar.:)
