Books

Sorry I have not updated you on my Luna story. I stopped working on it and moved to another story, which I think will go farther and has a better plot. It's a very dramatic story about a girl the age of fifteen... I think, who's name is Serida. She goes through a lot of adventures with her good friends, Ilad, Adlitam, Metsa and Bifroq. I might post it later, but I'll have to think about it.

School

We started school on Tuesday. This year, my parents decided not to put us in Classical Conversations homeschool group. It is the first time in three years that I haven't done it. Very strange! My favorite subject so far this year is Biology, or Logic, I'm really liking that too. Reuben is in 5th grade, so for math, he gets to use textbooks! (I don't think he's very thrilled) For Exposition and Composition, I am reading the book 'Little Britches' it's really good.

Also we are starting a new homeschool group called WMHFA. It teaches choir, band, orchestra, and color guard. I am in orchestra and color guard. I can't wait for it to start. It starts next Wednesday.

I thank God every day that we are able to do school at home and use Christian Curriculum's. I am also very thankful for the Christian, Homeschool friends I have to support me and encourage me.

Monkey Bars!!!

Over the last three days, daddy has worked extremely hard to dig three 1/2 deep holes, move quite heavy poles, level everything and much more. They are very fun. Sam made it across THREE times without touching his feet to the ground! I was shocked. I could only make it across once before resting.

SAT(Student Achievement Testing)

SAT is coming up again this year and I am soooo nervous. The songs I'm playing are a contemporary piece called Prelude in B flat minor. The second one is a Romantic piece called Sonotina in something, something major, and the last one is a Baroque piece called Prelude in somethin', somethin'. Anyway the names don't matter. They're really hard. I also have to do all the major and minor two octave scales... Aaaaaaaaagh! But the point of this post is that it is March 16th and I am really nervous. Wish me luck! So long!

Especially for Christina

Other than their attitudes, I made Soren look like me and modeled Fern after you. A Rebekah like character comes along later in the story. Oh, by the way, I didn't see the comment you mentioned at church on any of my posts. Did I misunderstand what you were saying or did it not show up for some reason. It was fun eating with you guys at Taco Bell. Enjoy your day!!

Fantasy Post the VI

"Soren? Soren...Soren!" It had almost reached sundown and Fern could not find where Soren had run off to. Suddenly, a net sprung up from the ground capturing Fern and Acies, bundling them like two pigs and a blanket. A falcon broke from a nearby bush and soared off to who knows where. Stunned, Fern and Acies sat there in silence and waited.

I've thought of a title for my book: ESCAPE. Hope you like what you've heard so far.

Fantasy Post The V

"We should really go back to Lunaland Soren."
"No! Not until we've figured our who owns this land."
       "Maybe nobody does."
       "I want an adventure."
"To me that sentence is the same as saying, 'I want trouble.'"
"You didn't have to come." Soren kicked Hostis into a canter. Fern was hurt. She hadn't meant to break their friendship. Soren was out of sight by now and Fern loped after her.

Fantasy Post the IV

"What are you doing here?" Soren hissed, trying to cover her fear. Fern looked up sheepishly and answered,
"Well, I couldn't just let my best friend run off into the Brackamshire woods could I? I'll Have to admit Acies,* my kitty isn't used to walking in the woods, hit about every twig from there to here." Soren released a bubbly laugh. "I brought food too." Fern muttered, "Your the only one who could be careless enough to forget that." Soren grinned. Fern was always "picking up the things she dropped" so to say. They continues through the undergrowth, Acies making it extremely obvious to any creature where the were. Gradually, the progress became quieter and less clumsy. Suddenly, both cats began shifting around uneasily, and balked from going further. Just then, a monstrous badger charged towards them out of the brush. Instantly, with shrieking wails, and scrambled away, predator close on their tails. The Luna's lifted off their mounts and flew to the safety of the treetops. As soon as the cats were loose they darted up tree's just in time to miss the snarling badgers menacing claws and snapping jaws. The frustrated mammal rampaged back into the dense undergrowth. Soren and Fern flitted over to their terrified felines and soothed them with milky, enchanting words, while still peering around to check their surroundings.

*Acies means battle line, because that's where he was captured
and brought to the Luna's

Fantasy Post The III

Soren was nervous. She let her mount pick her way through the Brackamshire woods, keeping alert for any mysterious sounds. They were most likely across the Lunaland border by now and no knowing who ruled beyond that. It had been five almost six days of journey from her house, including persuading Hostis* to cross Butterfly River. Poor Hostis had miserably slithered out the other side to immediately start licking her sopping fur. CRACK! A noise snapped Soren back to the present. Hostis froze in her tracks. CRACK, CRACK! All of a sudden, Fern emerged on the back of a monstrous grey tomcat.

*Hostis means 'enemy' in latin. Soren named her cat that
because the cat came from the Pixie's.

Fantasy Post The II

Soren had been gone for a couple of days now and Fern began to worry. To her relief, that night a triumphant Luna strolled into the hollow leading a tabby feline.
"Soren!" Fern shouted, as she dashed towards her victorious friend. Soren stabled her new kitty-pal and pulled Fern excitedly towards their secret hide-out.
"You won't believe it!" She whispered.
"What?" Fern pleaded curiosity getting the better of her shy nature.
"I've figured out were the stolen livestock are! The Pixie's have them! After we won the war between the Luna's and the Pixie's they slunk off stealing a whole herd of cattle!"
"You stole a cat from the Pixie's?" Easily angered, Soren glared at her,
"Since when did my friend become a critic?" She stomped away. Fern forlornly yet fiercely watched her mount the tabby and lope across the hollow

Do you think I am making her too stubborn and bratty? She does learn a lesson in the end, I promise. Please comment if so.

Fantasy

I started writing a story about mythical creatures called Luna's they are human shaped as big as a rabbit and have Luna moth wings. Soren is my main character with blonde hair and a silver head piece. She is a deadly shot with her bow. Here is the first part of my story:

Soren, the Luna, peeked through the scraggly underbrush and beheld a slim silhouette walking terribly near her hiding place. As silent as the air itself, she waited in suspense. Suddenly, a golden eagle, which is a Luna's worst enemy, lunged through the air, eyes feasting on the pinpointed profile. With the power of immortal speed she drew back her bow and shot, sending the dangerous animal reeling away injured and bewildered. The stranger wheeled around, eyes locked on Soren hiding in the bushes. Recognition dawned on Soren's face as she realized the stranger was her best friend, curly haired Fern.
"Fern! What are you doing so far from the hollow?"
"What are you doing?" She answered, just as surprised. Soren straightened herself proudly and answered,
"I'm getting myself a cat." Now you have to understand, since Luna's are only the rabbit-size a cat is used as a horse.
"A cat!" Fern exclaimed, "Women don't catch cats, men do!"
"Well Fern, you have your brothers cat to ride on, so seeing I don't have a brother, I'm getting one myself.
           "Y-you can't!"
"I'm perfectly capable!" With that, strong-willed Soren stomped off leaving Fern dumbfounded.

I have more already written, but that will be posted tomorrow. Please feel free to comment on things you think should be changed. Don't worry Soren doesn't stay as strong-headed through the whole story. :) Thank you!
