The Bible

"The Hobbit"
"The Secret Garden"
"Eragon"
What similarities do these three things have?
1. They have titles
2. They are books
3. They have capital letters

Is the Bible a book? (the B-I-B-L-E yes that's the book for me) Do all books have capital letters? Why have people then stopped capitalizing "Bible?" This topic was brought up at our dinner table the other day when my mom said she had noticed that more and more people weren't capitalizing it. and it really made me stop and think. I hadn't been capitalizing it either. It makes no sense whatsoever to leave it uncapitalized and that it would come naturally to us (at least me) is just odd. I really think it is the Devil picking his way slyly towards us. Sometimes these small things don't seem harmful. Here's an example though of why they are:

A little girl is told not to touch the reward jar, which holds candy, cookies, and much more yummy treats.
"Touching the jar won't hurt it." she thinks. She reaches out and taps it. The next day she lays her hand on the lid. Finally, after doing that for quite some time, she lifts the lid just a bit, then slams it back down and looks about. Nobody saw her. Then she pulls it forward and lifts the lid, before slamming it down and pushing it back to the wall of the counter. Then she pulls it forward, lifts the lid and smells the delightful aroma wafting from it. Finally, she reaches a hand in, only to pull it back out.

I'm sure you can figure out the rest of the story. She eventually takes a piece only to find out that her father has been watching her all along. No more rewards for her! So instead of occasionally getting rewards for good deeds. She got one tiny guilty bite. If we start not capitalizing "Bible" Soon, we'll begin leaving "God" uncapitalized, and "Heaven" and "Jesus" and slowly lose respect for His Word.
Anyway, just thought I'd give you something to think about today. I want to know your opinion on my thought.

Crafts

Lately, after school, I have been working on a couple crafts. My favorite is an Afghan I am crocheting with my brother Reuben. When it is finished it will be the american flag. It looks so awesome. Also, for Christmas my grandma gave my quilting material that has little Matryoshka dolls (or nesting dolls) all over it. I have started on that, and it's been really fun. The last one is an embroidery project I began. My grandma gave me a whole bunch of embroidery and cross stitch projects a couple years ago. So every once in awhile I'll pull one out. This is one of them and on the front you can personalize it to say: so'n'so wedded to so'n'so. I have no idea who it will be for, but I figured I could start on it. It's really pretty. Anyway, I was bored, so I decided to post something. :) Bye!!

Sarver Family Christmas

I know this is a little late. (I've been terribly busy) This year we had the wonderful opportunity to spend Christmas with my Aunt Janet and her two boys, Grandpa and Grandma, and Uncle Jon's family. It was a blast! We did four large puzzles, sledded. On Christmas morning the fire was roaring and we all gathered in the living room to open presents. This year I committed to making all my presents by hand. :) My favorite one was a baby blanket I crocheted for my cute 1 year old cousin Atticus. He smiled ear to ear when he opened it, it was sooooo cute! Anyway, we had an awesome time, and it was so cool seeing my Aunt Janet. We haven't seen her since the summer of '07!

Books

Sorry I have not updated you on my Luna story. I stopped working on it and moved to another story, which I think will go farther and has a better plot. It's a very dramatic story about a girl the age of fifteen... I think, who's name is Serida. She goes through a lot of adventures with her good friends, Ilad, Adlitam, Metsa and Bifroq. I might post it later, but I'll have to think about it.

School

We started school on Tuesday. This year, my parents decided not to put us in Classical Conversations homeschool group. It is the first time in three years that I haven't done it. Very strange! My favorite subject so far this year is Biology, or Logic, I'm really liking that too. Reuben is in 5th grade, so for math, he gets to use textbooks! (I don't think he's very thrilled) For Exposition and Composition, I am reading the book 'Little Britches' it's really good.

Also we are starting a new homeschool group called WMHFA. It teaches choir, band, orchestra, and color guard. I am in orchestra and color guard. I can't wait for it to start. It starts next Wednesday.

I thank God every day that we are able to do school at home and use Christian Curriculum's. I am also very thankful for the Christian, Homeschool friends I have to support me and encourage me.

Monkey Bars!!!

Over the last three days, daddy has worked extremely hard to dig three 1/2 deep holes, move quite heavy poles, level everything and much more. They are very fun. Sam made it across THREE times without touching his feet to the ground! I was shocked. I could only make it across once before resting.

SAT(Student Achievement Testing)

SAT is coming up again this year and I am soooo nervous. The songs I'm playing are a contemporary piece called Prelude in B flat minor. The second one is a Romantic piece called Sonotina in something, something major, and the last one is a Baroque piece called Prelude in somethin', somethin'. Anyway the names don't matter. They're really hard. I also have to do all the major and minor two octave scales... Aaaaaaaaagh! But the point of this post is that it is March 16th and I am really nervous. Wish me luck! So long!
